It's hard to believe but Aizen is 2 months old now!!! He's been getting so gosh darn big. He has an appointment next week to get his immunization shots and a weigh in, I can't wait to see how big he has gotten. At his 6 week appointment he weighed in at 10 pounds!!! WOOT!!!! He's Definately gotten a lot bigger since then.
Aunt Lindsey stopped by today with presents for the kids. Melody got a couple new books and Aizen got a sleeper and a handmade cream blankie. Each of my kiddos have one from her and Melody is now using hers in her baby bassinett with her dollies. THANKS Aunt Lindsay!!!!!
We also went to Melon Head to get Melody's hair cut for the new year!! She looks adorable and she got glitter in her hair ... which daddy got on his cheek from a cuddle with her ... which now Aizen has all over his head from cuddling with daddy. So, we are glitter central over here ... what WAS I thinking when I agreed to let her have glitter ... it will soon be ALL over the house. LOL

Checked Out The New Classroom
Today we went to Mel's school and saw her new classroom. She is SO excited to be starting 1st grade on the 4th of September. We had a nice walk there, we saw a caterpillar crawling across the sidewalk and a BIG lineup of ants. Melody is a big bug lover and was so happy to be looking at the bugs.
We are so excited to be starting the new school year. Melody put her name on her desk, found her special star, looked at her schedule, read a book, checked out the fish tank, talked about our concerns about Mel's year and had a great visit with her principal as well.
Melody has a special dictionary at school that she can add words to. She wanted to bring it home, so we are in the midst of making her one like it for home.
We've been doing a lot of different things this summer to keep up with what she learned last year. She has a great game that is like a 3D world where she is working on math, english, problem solving skills and everyday scheduling. She's been having such a blast with it this summer. We also got her some canadian play money and she is enjoying learning how money works. We've been reading lots on astronomy, anatomy and bugs. All things that she just loves to learn about.
So, one more week til a new adventure begins for us!!

Ring Ring Banana Phone
So, there is this commercial where you get incoming phone calls for free on your cell phone. The guy on it is going around with his thumb and pinky doing the "phone" by his ear and mouth to random strangers saying "Call me."
Well my daughter just LOVES this commercial and for the last week will say ... Hey mommy .... call me. And then she will start giggling at herself.
I'm on the phone yesterday with Char and my daughter starts playing with a banana. She puts it up to her ear and says ... Mommy, call me. She then turns the banana upside down and says .. Mommy, call me back.
So she and I have adopted the "call me, call me back" with our thumb and pinky, turning it upside down for the call me back.
Kids are just too funny.

Should Probably Introduce Myself
Hi!! Welcome to my blog. I'm Denise, wifey of 7 years to Daniel and mommy to Melody and Aizen, and my precious Ruby (April 2005-February 2007) who passed away and is waiting for me in Heaven this past February.
Life has been really rough for our family the past 6 months and we really miss our daughter Ruby and wish she were still with us. Always remember that life is short and to cherish your children every moment for you never know when they will be called home.
I've been a Christian for 13 years now and we attend Unionville Alliance Church. The Lord has seen me through some hard times in my life and has always brought me through difficult times. These troubling times have made me a stronger person.
My blog title is from a very special memorial quilt for Ruby that was made by my wonderful friends from CHF. One of the squares on my quilt was the "Sunshine Through The Rain" and it became the theme for it and now my life. The death of my child has been the hardest thing I have ever been through and through the tears/rain there is sunshine as I remember her and do things in her memory.
We're a crunchy family. We love cute cloth diapers, there is just something about a baby in a little fluffy butt that is just too darn cute. I think I am quite addicted to buying cloth diapers, as any other cloth diaperer knows, there are just way too many cute diapers out there. LOL
I'm a craftoholic and love doing lots of things. I crochet, scrapbook, cross stitch, am dabbling in quilting, rubber stamping and lots of other little things. It has been very therapeutic in my recovery. I also love baking and making super yummy treats for my family. I'll be sure to share recipes as we find new favourites.
Well anywho, I must be off to go and wash bottles.
Blessings to you.
